What is Alzheimer's?
Alzheimer's is a disease of the brain that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. It is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States.
What to expect?
You may want to offer assistance to a family living with Alzheimer's but worry you'll say or do the wrong thing. It is important to remember that they are the same people they were before the diagnosis.
Because family members often feel alone and disconnected from friends, need assistance or a break but hesitate to ask, struggle to run errands or complete daily tasks, suffer from stress and welcome a good listener it is important to create a support network.
What is a support network?
A support network may take on a great many faces. There are so many outreach care coordinating agencies in your local areas, there are Assisted Living Homes and support meetings to help you and your loved one live with Alzheimer's and/or Dementia.
